FAQ – Filming in Japan: Common Questions

Do we need filming permits in Japan?

Permit requirements depend on the location and the nature of the filming.
Some public spaces allow filming without formal permits, while temples, shrines, private facilities, and commercial areas usually require prior approval.

We assist with preliminary checks and coordination and, when necessary, work with relevant local partners or specialists to support the permit process.

Can you arrange filming permissions for us?

We support coordination and communication related to filming permissions.
Formal permit applications and legal approvals are handled in cooperation with location owners, local authorities, or specialized professionals when required.

Our role is to help ensure the process runs smoothly and transparently.

Do you provide camera operators or technical crew?

We focus on filming support, logistics, and coordination.
Technical roles such as camera operation, lighting, sound, and editing remain under the responsibility of your production team.
